I have good news for Pokemon lovers. Here is a free crochet pokeball pattern. You can also make it with a special pink heart for Valentine’s Day. You will see how to do this in detail in the crochet pattern. However, if you want a simple pokeball crochet pattern, you can do it without adding hearts and using red thread. Pokeball crochet pattern

Pattern: loopsbylizt

Materials and tools

– Chunky yarn (I used chenille home slim)
– 5 mm crochet hook
– Worsted weight yarn (I used value)
– 3.5 mm hook
– Yarn needle and scissors
– Polyfill

Abbreviations

Sc- Single crochet
Hdc- Half double crochet
Dc- Double crochet
Tr- Treble crochet
Inc- Increase
Dec- Decrease
Slst- Slip stitch
Ch- Chain
CC- Color change

Pokeball

Start with pink.
1. 6 sc MR
2. inc (12)
3. sc,inc (18)
4. 2sc, inc (24)
5. 3sc, inc (30)
6. 4sc, inc (36)
7-9. sc around, 3 rounds
CC to black:
10. sc around
CC to white:
11-13. sc around, 3 rounds
14. 4sc, dec (30)
15. 3sc, dec (24)
Stuff you pokeball.
16. 2sc, dec (18)
17. sc, dec (12)
18. dec (6)
Fasten off and close.

Button

We’ll make 2 pieces and sew them together.
In white.
1. 6 sc MR
Fasten off and leave tail for sewing.
In black.
1. 6 sc MR
2. inc around
Fasten off and leave tail for sewing.
Sew the white piece to the black piece, but don’t sew the button on the pokeball yet!

Heart appliqué

In light pink.
1. MR and ch 3.
2. 3 tr, 2 dc, 1 hdc, ch 1, 1 tr, ch 1, 1 hdc, 2 dc, 3 tr, ch 2, slst into MR. Close MR.
3. sc into ch 3 space, then 1 hdc, 1 hdc inc around, then sc into ch 2 space and fasten off.
4. Pull up a loop in white, slst around, then fasten off. Leave a tail for sewing.

Assembly

Center the heart on the top half of the pokeball, with the bottom edge of the heart halfway covering row 10, then sew it on.
It may be helpful to hold the button to see how much of the heart is covered since you want the bottom edge of the heart covered by the button.
Lastly sew your button on the pokeball, covering the CC seam.

Congratulations you have completed the pokeball crochet pattern!
