2nd hump of the heart
Let’s start with a magic ring (MR).
Round 1: Make 4 single stitches in magic ring. Pull the yarn to close the magic ring. Place a yarn of contrasting colour as a marker.
Round 2: inc, in next stitch we will make one single crochet, we will add a contrasting colour of yarn here and we will make one more single crochet (we will use this marker to place the lock part of the key chain (it is green on the photo)), [inc] x 2; (8).
Round 3: sc in all stitches; (8). Don’t cut yarn! We will continue.
Merge Humps
We join the two humps together and single crochet around as follows:
Round 4: Hold the first hump piece with the last stitch of that round facing you. Make a single crochet into the first stitch of that round, keep the long fastened off yarn and the marker yarn hanging free on the outside of your work, between the joining point of the two humps. We will use this marker yarn as marker. Make 7 more single crochets on the first hump.
Let’s make a single crochet into the next empty stitch on the first hump and continue to work single crochet stitches in every stitch around the second hump. (16 stitches and both pieces are joined together).
There will be a small hole between the 2 humps which you will stitch closed later, we will use the hanging yarn between the two humps for this aim.
Round 5: Sc in all stitches; (16).
Let’s sew the gap between humps by using the hanging yarn from the first hump with a tapestry needle!
Round 6: [Sc, dec] x 5, sc; (11). Let’s start stuffing!
Let’s insert the lock part into the heart between the stitches where we placed a marker before. Let’s sew it> there with a tapestry needle.
Round 7: [Sc, dec] x 3, sc 2; (8). Cut yarn by leaving a long tail. Finish off. Close the gap by passing through the front loops of the stitches. Bury the yarn end into the heart.
Let’s sew one piece of the sew-on snap fastener on the heart and sew the other piece of the snap fastener on the lock part. Let’s bury the yarn ends in the work.
